Rt Hon Rahis Sends Strong Message of Unity to Supporters Following Emergence as APC MMC Reps Candidate

‎The newly elected APC candidate for the Maiduguri House of Representatives seat, Rt. Hon. Abdulkadir Rahis, has called on his supporters, especially social media influencers and political associates, to refrain from all forms of mockery, insults, and negative insinuations against other contestants who participated in the party primaries.

‎According to the federal lawmaker, politics should never be seen as a platform for hatred, division, or personal attacks, stressing that every member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has the constitutional right to support any aspirant of their choice during the primary election process.

‎He noted that while political interests may differ during primaries, unity must always prevail once the party concludes its internal democratic process. He emphasized that the APC in Borno State has continued to distinguish itself through peace, unity, discipline, and mutual respect among members.

‎Rt. Hon. Rahis further stated that although he may not consider himself the best among all aspirants, he firmly believes that whatever Allah chooses is always the best for the people.  “Leadership comes with humility and responsibility. Victory should never be a reason to mock others or create unnecessary division within our great party,” he said.

‎As preparations towards the forthcoming general elections gather momentum, the lawmaker urged all party loyalists and supporters not to promote factional politics or ridicule anyone who did not support his aspiration before the primaries. He reminded them that true political maturity is reflected in humility during victory and respect for others regardless of political differences.

‎Rt. Hon. Rahis also reflected on his long political journey, reminding supporters that his rise in politics came through dedication, perseverance, and the support of the people. He recalled how he started his political career from humble beginnings and, through Allah’s grace and public trust, eventually emerged as a five-time Chairman of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC), a three term member of the House of Representatives, and now the duly elected APC candidate once again for the same seat.

‎He concluded by calling on all APC members, stakeholders, youths, women, and supporters across MMC to remain united and work collectively for the continued growth, peace, and success of the party ahead of the general elections.
