Bashir ‎Ahmad dismisses report of Aisha Buhari’s alleged marriage to Pantami

‎A former media aide to late President Muhammadu Buhari, Malam Bashir Ahmad, has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that former First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, is set to marry a former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami.
‎Ahmad described the report as false and misleading, insisting that there was no truth whatsoever in the claim.

‎He was reacting to a purported wedding invitation card shared online, which suggested that Pantami was planning to marry the former First Lady.

‎In a post on his official Facebook page, Ahmad said the story was so baseless that it did not deserve serious attention.
‎“This is not a story that should even require denial, because any sensible person will not take it seriously,” he wrote.

‎“However, since some people are still spreading the rumour, it is necessary to state the facts clearly. The news being shared that Hajiya Aisha Buhari has agreed to marry Sheikh Isa Ali Pantami is a lie. There is no truth in it at all,” Ahmad added.

‎The rumour surfaced less than one year after the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

‎Buhari died on July 13, 2025, at the London Clinic in the United Kingdom.
‎His remains were flown back to Nigeria and he was buried in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State, with full military honours.
