
The Chairman-Elect of Kaga Local Government Area of Borno, Hon Zannah Lawan Ajimi, has engaged Ward Heads across the local government as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots development and inclusive governance.
The consultative meeting, held on ealier brought together traditional and community leaders to discuss strategies for effective local administration, security collaboration and people-oriented development.
Hon Ajimi said the engagement was aimed at fostering partnership with critical grassroots stakeholders, noting that Ward Heads and traditional institutions play a vital role in community mobilisation and governance.
According to him, his administration will prioritise community participation, improved security collaboration and transparent governance to ensure sustainable development across the wards.
He described the Kaga Local Government Strategic Development Plan as the guiding framework of his administration, explaining that it would serve as a roadmap for policy direction, priority projects and accountable service delivery.
“The strategic development plan will help us achieve coordinated and sustainable development while ensuring that the needs of our people are adequately addressed,” he said.
Hon Ajimi also disclosed plans to organise capacity-building programmes for Ward Heads to enhance leadership skills, administrative efficiency and effective community engagement.
In their remarks, the Ward Heads congratulated the Chairman-Elect on his emergence and pledged their support for his administration.
They assured him of their readiness to work closely with the local government to promote peace, security and development across Kaga.
This meeting forms part of Hon Ajimi’s early consultations ahead of his assumption of office.
