The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, has assured his supporters that he remains committed to making decisions that will benefit the people, particularly youths, amid speculations of possible political realignments.
Kwankwaso gave the assurance in a statement issued on Monday, where he expressed appreciation to members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and supporters across the country for their loyalty and steadfastness.
He specifically commended supporters on social media, describing them as a vital pillar of the movement.
“I extend my deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to our vibrant social media family, loyal supporters, and all well-wishers who continue to stand firmly by our noble cause,” the statement read.
Kwankwaso said the commitment of his supporters to the ideals of service, integrity and people-centred development had strengthened the foundation of the movement, despite challenges encountered along the way.
“Your unwavering dedication to the timeless ideals of Kwankwasiyya—service, integrity, and people-centred progress—together with your remarkable patience amid every challenge and tribulation, is the very foundation upon which the promising future of our movement is being built,” he said.
The former governor of Kano State assured that he would continue to act in the best interest of the people.
“Rest assured, we shall remain steadfast in our duty to serve, making decisions that uplift and benefit our entire people, with special focus and priority on our loyal youth,” he added.
Meanwhile, ahead of the 2027 general elections, Kwankwaso has hinted at the possibility of forming an alliance with either the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) or the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Reports indicate that he is currently holding discussions with leaders of the ADC and is expected to make his political position known in the coming days.
