Mourinho Insists He Could Turn Down Real Madrid Return

‎Benfica head coach, Jose Mourinho, has stated that he would be capable of rejecting an offer from Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, if he were approached to take charge of the club again.

‎Mourinho is set to host the Spanish side on Tuesday in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League play-off clash, with the return fixture scheduled for next week at the Santiago Bernabeu.

‎The Portuguese tactician, who managed Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013, reportedly has a clause in his Benfica contract that would allow him to leave the club.

‎The 63-year-old previously guided his team to a 4-2 win over Madrid during the league phase of the Champions League in January.

‎Speaking to reporters about the possibility of returning to the Spanish giants, Mourinho said he could decline such an opportunity.

‎“Can you say no? Yes,” he said.
‎“Yes, you can.

‎“I gave everything to Real Madrid — everything I had. I did good things, I did bad things, but I gave absolutely everything, and that’s all.”
