Al-Nassr are reportedly prepared to let Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club should he choose to depart, according to a report by the UK Mirror.
The Portuguese superstar’s current contract includes a £43 million release clause, which is set to become active at the end of the season.
Ronaldo, 41, has allegedly refused to feature in Al-Nassr’s last two league matches in protest, citing what he views as unfair treatment by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is said to have accused the PIF of favouring rival clubs in transfer dealings, a move that has reportedly left Saudi officials “taken aback.”
Sources indicate that authorities are already considering moving on and are ready to “crown a new king” should Ronaldo decide to leave the Saudi Pro League.
