APC Has Done More Harm to Nigeria Than Military Rule — Atiku

‎Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of inflicting unprecedented damage on Nigeria’s national life, describing the current government as the worst administration he has experienced in nearly four decades of political engagement.

‎Atiku made the remarks during the launch of The Loyalist, a book authored by the National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi. He expressed satisfaction that politicians from diverse backgrounds were able to unite under the ADC platform.

‎The former vice president commended contributors and supporters of the book launch, noting that their participation enriched national political discourse. He urged readers to see the book not merely as a narrative, but as a practical guide to individual and collective responsibility.

‎“Let it guide us in the performance of our public duties and inspire continued dialogue, scholarship, and action that promote justice, fairness, dignity, and equal opportunity for all Nigerians,” Atiku said.

‎He further noted that the ADC presents a unique opportunity as a political platform, describing it as a convergence of different political ideologies united by a common goal of rebuilding Nigeria and revitalising its democratic process.

‎According to him, the growing collaboration within the ADC represents one of the few positive developments in Nigeria’s recent political history.

‎“If there is anything encouraging in our current political landscape, it is this collective effort to rescue the nation from what I consider the worst administration I have witnessed in almost 40 years of political life. Even the military regimes before 1999 did not undermine our national life and consciousness to this extent,” he stated.

‎Atiku recalled that many of those now seeking alternatives were instrumental in forming the APC, adding that the party failed to deliver on its promise of national rescue.

‎“We once took responsibility to come together and form an alternative. We must do so again to build a new political organisation capable of saving this country and serving the true interests of its people,” he added.
