A Federal High Court judge in Abuja has stepped down from presiding over two cases involving former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.
During Thursday’s proceedings, Justice Egwuatu announced his decision to withdraw from the matters, citing personal reasons and the interest of justice.
Malami is currently facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a 16-count charge related to alleged money laundering.
In December 2025, the anti-graft agency revealed it had traced 41 properties valued at N212 billion to the former minister as part of investigations into his time in office.
The properties — which include hotels, residential houses, parcels of land, schools, and a printing press — are located across Kebbi, Kano, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
