
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External, with 82.26 per cent of candidates scoring five credits and above.
NECO’s Registrar and Chief Executive, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, announced this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the examination.
Wushishi said that the performance showed a significant improvement compared to previous years, attributing the success to enhanced examination monitoring, improved candidate preparation and stricter supervision measures put in place by the council.
According to him, a total of [insert number if available] candidates registered for the examination, out of which 82.26 per cent obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.
The registrar disclosed that the council recorded a reduction in examination malpractice, noting that several results were withheld pending further investigation.
He reaffirmed NECO’s commitment to conducting credible examinations and maintaining the integrity of its certificates.
Wushishi advised candidates to check their results on the council’s official portal and urged schools, parents and stakeholders to continue supporting efforts aimed at improving the quality of education in the country.
The SSCE External is designed for private candidates and is conducted annually by NECO.
