
The member representing Maiduguri Metropolitan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Abdulkadir Rahis, has facilitated the repair of a malfunctioning solar-powered borehole in Bolori I Ward, Maiduguri.
The intervention followed complaints by residents over the breakdown of the facility, which had disrupted access to clean and potable water in the area.
The solar-powered borehole, a major source of water supply for households in the ward, had reportedly developed technical faults, causing hardship for residents who depend on it for their daily water needs.
Responding to the situation, Rt Hon Rahis initiated prompt repair works to restore the facility.
Key components replaced during the repairs included a Sumo solar pump, four solar panels, a stop cock and five taps.
The restoration of the borehole has since improved access to water and eased the burden on families in the community.
Some residents who spoke expressed appreciation for the timely intervention, describing it as a demonstration of responsive and people-oriented representation.
They commended the lawmaker for his proactive approach to addressing the pressing needs of his constituents and urged him to sustain efforts toward executing more development projects in the constituency.
Access to clean water remains a critical need in many communities in Maiduguri, making the functionality of public boreholes essential to public health and wellbeing.
