
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has approved the immediate promotion of over 2,000 workers in Abuja.
This is contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the minister’s spokesperson, Mr Lere Olayinka, in Abuja.
Olayinka said the promotions followed promotion examinations conducted between Nov. 25 and Nov. 29, 2025.
According to him, the beneficiaries include staff of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) and the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
He said the exercise was part of ongoing efforts by the FCT Administration to motivate workers and improve efficiency in service delivery.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Mr Emeka Ezeh, said the promoted officers cut across 165 cadres in the service.
Ezeh noted that the promotion exercise was conducted in line with civil service rules and was based on merit and performance.
He commended the minister for approving the promotions and reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to professionalism, transparency and fairness in the management of the FCT civil service.
