Wike Authorises Promotion of 2,000 FCT Civil Servants‎


‎The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has approved the immediate promotion of over 2,000 workers in Abuja.

‎This is contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the minister’s spokesperson, Mr Lere Olayinka, in Abuja.

‎Olayinka said the promotions followed promotion examinations conducted between Nov. 25 and Nov. 29, 2025.

‎According to him, the beneficiaries include staff of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) and the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

‎He said the exercise was part of ongoing efforts by the FCT Administration to motivate workers and improve efficiency in service delivery.

‎Also speaking, the Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Mr Emeka Ezeh, said the promoted officers cut across 165 cadres in the service.

‎Ezeh noted that the promotion exercise was conducted in line with civil service rules and was based on merit and performance.

‎He commended the minister for approving the promotions and reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to professionalism, transparency and fairness in the management of the FCT civil service.
