Zamfara begins payment of allowances to corps members

‎The Zamfara State Government has commenced the payment of special allowances to members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in the state.

‎Under the new arrangement, Medical Corps members are to receive a monthly allowance of ₦150,000, while other health professionals posted to the state will earn ₦50,000. Corps members from other disciplines are to receive ₦20,000.

‎A statement issued in Gusau by the state government said the initiative was part of efforts to improve the welfare of corps members and encourage quality service delivery, particularly in the health sector.

‎According to the statement, the enhanced allowance for medical personnel is aimed at addressing manpower gaps in public health facilities across the state and motivating young professionals to contribute effectively to healthcare delivery.

‎The government reaffirmed its commitment to prioritising health, education and youth development, adding that the payment had already commenced for eligible corps members.

‎It urged beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture through dedication, professionalism and adherence to the ethics of the NYSC scheme.
