Former Sokoto State Governor and Senator, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has reportedly opened his residences in Sokoto State to accommodate visitors and supporters attending the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential campaign flag-off rally scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
The move follows allegations by ADC members that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration in Sokoto State had frustrated efforts by the opposition party to secure accommodation for its supporters and campaign visitors ahead of the rally.
The development also comes amid claims that ADC offices in the state were blocked, an action party members have described as an attempt to disrupt their political activities and weaken their mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Reacting to the situation, Senator Tambuwal reportedly expressed confidence that neither intimidation nor alleged political restrictions would prevent the ADC from pursuing its campaign activities.
He was quoted as saying:
“They have blocked our offices. They have blocked hotels and accommodation for our people. But they cannot block the people of Sokoto. I am opening all my houses in Sokoto for ADC Campaign visitors. Atiku is coming, and nobody can stop him.”
Tambuwal’s reported gesture has generated considerable reactions among ADC supporters and other political observers, with many viewing it as a demonstration of political commitment, solidarity and determination in the face of the alleged challenges.
The former governor’s position also reinforces the ADC’s determination to sustain its mobilisation activities and ensure a successful campaign rally in Sokoto.
As preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum, the unfolding political developments in Sokoto underscore the growing contest between the ruling APC and opposition forces seeking to challenge its hold on power.
