The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the North-East Development Commission (NEDC), Dr. Mohammed Goni Alkali, has today been conferred with the prestigious Fellowship of the Nigerian Association of Hydrogeologists (FNAH), at an event organised by the association in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The honour represents another significant recognition for Dr. Alkali, whose leadership at the NEDC has continued to focus on sustainable development, institutional growth and the reconstruction and transformation of the North-East region.
The Nigerian Association of Hydrogeologists (NAH) is a professional body dedicated to advancing hydrogeological knowledge, promoting professional standards and strengthening the sustainable management of groundwater and other water resources in Nigeria.
The fellowship further highlights the importance of professional collaboration and the integration of technical expertise into addressing critical development challenges, particularly access to sustainable water resources, which remains essential to public health, agriculture, economic growth and community resilience.
Under Dr. Alkali’s leadership, the NEDC has continued to implement interventions across its six constituent states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe, covering critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, water supply, energy and livelihood development.
