For over a decade, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Mohammed Goni Alkali, has continued to make remarkable contributions toward uplifting the lives of the people of Borno State. Through his tireless efforts, he has facilitated employment opportunities in key government agencies and supported numerous youths and elders with startup capital, all aimed at improving livelihoods and enhancing overall wellbeing.
Despite these laudable initiatives, much of his selfless work remains largely unrecognized and underreported in the mainstream media, perhaps a reflection of his humility and quiet disposition.
Notably, Mohammed Goni Alkali’s interventions in the NEDC have always been guided by fairness, merit, and transparency. In matters of employment, empowerment, and contract awards, he is widely known for his principled stance: beneficiaries are not selected based on personal relationships or prior acquaintance. Indeed, he often does not know beneficiaries in person before opportunities are granted, as decisions are made strictly on the basis of qualifications, competence, and suitability. This merit-driven approach has further strengthened public confidence in his leadership.
Among his many contributions, his role in facilitating several permanent and pensionable positions for young people across various government establishments stands out. This act of benevolence deserves commendation, as it has positively transformed many lives across Borno State.
Over the years, Mohammed Goni Alkali has demonstrated deep commitment to the welfare of the people of Borno and Nigerians at large. His leadership reflects a strong belief in unity, patriotism, accountability, and service to humanity.
It is on this note that I find it necessary to highlight the noble deeds of my Principal, whose dedication to the progress of Borno State and the North East region continues to inspire hope and gratitude. May those who have benefited from his kindness and trust justify the confidence reposed in them.
May Almighty Allah continue to bless, guide, and protect him in all his endeavors.
