Student Loans: NELFUND Opens Applications for First-Year Undergraduates‎



‎All full-time Year One students who have accepted their admissions have been invited to commence applications for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for the 2025/2026 academic session.

‎The Director of the Information and Communication Technology Centre (ICTC), Prof. Sunny Orike, disclosed that the application process is simple and can be completed in less than 10 minutes.

‎According to the notice, eligible students are required to have the following documents and information:

‎JAMB Admission Letter

‎Bank Verification Number (BVN)

‎National Identification Number (NIN)

‎Applicants were advised to use their JAMB Registration Number in place of a matriculation number during the application process. They will also be required to upload their JAMB admission letter before completing the application.

‎To begin account creation and loan application, students are to visit the official NELFUND website at  http://www.nelf.gov.ng and click on the “Apply Now” option.

‎Prof. Orike noted that students experiencing challenges during the application process can contact the Director, ICTC, via WhatsApp on 08033988451 for assistance.

‎He added that the deadline for submission of applications for the 2025/2026 academic session is January 31, 2026, urging eligible students to apply early to avoid last-minute difficulties.
