Footwear Entrepreneurship Centre Nears Completion in Maiduguri

‎A bill sponsored by Rt. Hon. Abdulkadir Rahis, representing Maiduguri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, for the establishment of a Footwear Entrepreneurship Development Centre in Maiduguri, Borno State, has begun yielding tangible results.

‎The initiative, aimed at equipping youths with practical skills in footwear design, production and marketing, is intended to promote self-reliance and entrepreneurship among young people in the state.

‎Findings indicates that construction of the centre, which commenced from scratch, is nearing completion. The facility is being equipped with modern infrastructure designed to function as a comprehensive training and production hub for aspiring entrepreneurs.

‎The centre is expected to provide beneficiaries with hands-on skills required to establish sustainable footwear businesses, thereby creating viable sources of income and reducing dependence on white-collar jobs.

‎The project aligns with the strategic vision of the Borno State Government under Gov. Babagana Zulum, which prioritises poverty eradication, youth empowerment and the promotion of self-employment through skills acquisition.

‎Stakeholders say the initiative is expected to contribute to reduced unemployment, stimulate small-scale industrial growth and enhance overall economic development in the state.

‎Constituents have commended Rahis for his foresight and commitment to community development, describing the project as a practical intervention with long-term socio-economic benefits for Borno residents.

‎The lawmaker has reiterated his resolve to continue supporting initiatives that improve livelihoods and promote sustainable development across his constituency.
