As preparations intensify for the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged party members to avoid anti-party activities and actions capable of undermining the party’s chances at the polls.
Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye stressed the importance of unity, discipline, and collective commitment among APC members as the August 15 governorship election draws closer.
According to him, bitterness, careless remarks, unguided utterances, and internal divisions could weaken the party’s position if not addressed promptly.
APC Victory in Osun Non-Negotiable – Oyintiloye
The APC stalwart expressed confidence that the party would emerge victorious in the forthcoming election, describing victory as “non-negotiable.” However, he cautioned that achieving this objective would require members to put aside personal differences and work together for the common good of the party.
He emphasized that unresolved grievances among party members could become a major obstacle to success and called on party leaders, elders, and stakeholders to engage aggrieved members and resolve lingering disputes.
”Victory for the APC in the election is non-negotiable, and any factor capable of hindering the party’s success should be tackled head-on,” he said.
Need for Reconciliation and Internal Cohesion
Oyintiloye noted that every political party faces internal disagreements from time to time, but successful parties are those that prioritize reconciliation and unity.
He urged APC leaders in Osun State to urgently address all perceived grievances to prevent divisions that could prolong the party’s stay in opposition.
”The governorship election is fast approaching, and there is an urgent need for us to come together as one big family. No divided house can win a battle. We must resolve our differences and focus on the bigger goal of returning APC to power in Osun State,” he stated.
Political observers believe that internal cohesion will play a crucial role in determining the outcome of the 2026 Osun governorship election, making Oyintiloye’s appeal particularly significant.
Confidence in APC Leadership and Stakeholders
The APC chieftain expressed confidence in the ability of respected party leaders and stakeholders to guide the reconciliation process and strengthen the party ahead of the election.
He specifically acknowledged the contributions and leadership of Chief Bisi Akande, former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, APC National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, and other party elders.
According to him, their experience, influence, and commitment to progressive governance will be instrumental in positioning the APC for success at the polls.
Electorate Ready for APC Return, Says Party Chieftain
Oyintiloye further claimed that many voters in Osun State are eager to see the APC return to power, expressing optimism that the party’s message and track record would resonate with the electorate.
He maintained that if party members remain united and focused, the APC would secure victory and restore what he described as progressive governance in the state.
Looking Ahead to Osun 2026
With the Osun governorship election scheduled for August 15, political activities are expected to intensify in the coming months. Analysts believe that party unity, voter engagement, campaign strategy, and grassroots mobilization will be key factors shaping the outcome of the election.
For the APC, the challenge remains maintaining internal harmony while presenting a united front capable of convincing voters that it deserves another opportunity to govern the state.
As the political landscape continues to evolve, Oyintiloye’s call for unity underscores the growing importance of cohesion and strategic planning in the race toward Osun 2026.
