APC Raises Alarm Over Alleged N13.7 Billion Ghost Workers Scheme in Osun
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Diaspora Committee has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to immediately investigate and freeze bank accounts allegedly connected to a reported N13.7 billion ghost workers salary fraud in Osun State.
The demand was made in a statement issued in Osogbo by the committee’s Secretary, Tunmise Ajiboye, who expressed concern over the alleged diversion of public funds through irregular salary payments within the state’s workforce.
Audit Report Allegedly Uncovers Massive Salary Irregularities
According to the APC Diaspora Committee, a consultant reportedly engaged by the Osun State Government in 2023 to conduct a comprehensive workforce audit discovered significant discrepancies in the state’s payroll system.
The committee alleged that the audit revealed that salaries belonging to multiple workers were being paid into single bank accounts, raising concerns about the existence of ghost workers and possible payroll fraud. The alleged irregularities are said to amount to approximately N13.7 billion annually.

Call for Immediate EFCC and ICPC Investigation
The APC committee urged both the EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to launch a comprehensive investigation into the allegations.
