The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Alhaji Mohammed G. Alkali, stands out as a remarkable leader whose character, integrity, and compassion have earned him admiration across different communities. Widely regarded as a good man with a kind heart, his contributions go beyond official responsibilities, reflecting a deep commitment to humanity and sustainable development.
As the saying goes, “the goldfish has no hiding place,” and this aptly describes Alkali’s excellence and visibility in service. His competence and dedication earned him his first appointment at the North East Development Commission (NEDC) by the late President Muhammadu Buhari. Notably, he was later reappointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, placing him among the very few less than 10% who have enjoyed such trust and continuity under two different administrations. This rare achievement underscores his credibility, performance, and national relevance.
Alhaji Mohammed G. Alkali represents a model of effective leadership. He has consistently emphasized the importance of teamwork, transparency, and accountability in governance.
