NEDC Boosts Water Infrastructure at College of Nursing, Yola

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has successfully renovated and constructed modern water works facilities at the College of Nursing, Yola in Adamawa State, reaffirming its dedication to enhancing sanitation, hygiene, and conducive learning environments in educational and health institutions across the North East.

‎This intervention is designed to guarantee sustainable access to safe and clean water — a critical requirement for maintaining proper hygiene and sanitation standards, particularly within a healthcare training institution. The upgraded water system will significantly benefit students, lecturers, and the College’s management by supporting daily academic activities, clinical training sessions, and overall public health practices on campus.

‎The project was officially commissioned by Uba Maigari Ahmadu, Minister of State for Regional Development, in the presence of Paul Tarfa, Chairman of the NEDC Board; Mohammed Goni Alkali, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer; Garba Iliya, Executive Director, Administration and Finance; Abdulsalam Mohammed, Executive Director, Operations; alongside other senior officials of the Commission.

‎In their separate remarks, the College’s management, staff, and students conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the NEDC for what they described as a timely and transformative intervention. They noted that the project represents a major improvement in sanitation standards, enhances the quality of teaching and learning, and strengthens the institution’s capacity to train future healthcare professionals.

‎The initiative further reflects the Commission’s ongoing commitment to advancing human capital development and upgrading essential infrastructure throughout the North East region.
