The North-East Development Commission (NEDC), in collaboration with the Nigerian Association of Nephrology (NAN), UMTH Chapter, has commenced a kidney health awareness campaign aimed at reducing the prevalence of kidney-related diseases in Maiduguri.
Representing the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NEDC, Alhaji Mohammed G. Alkali, the Borno State Coordinator, Engr. Muhammad Umar Wasada, highlighted the life-saving significance of the initiative. He urged stakeholders to make proper use of the resources provided, reaffirming the Commission’s readiness to support kidney patients as well as the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH).
In his remarks, the President of NAN commended the NEDC for its impactful interventions across various sectors, particularly those that directly improve livelihoods.
