Tinubu Appoints Fayose, 25 Others to Strategic Federal Agencies
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), alongside 25 other Nigerians into the boards and leadership of key Federal Government agencies and commissions.
The appointments, announced on Monday in a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, are aimed at strengthening the administration of strategic institutions responsible for infrastructure development, revenue management, population data, electricity, education, and fiscal governance.
According to the Presidency, all appointments take immediate effect.
Fayose to Chair Rural Electrification Agency Board
As Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Fayose will oversee the board responsible for driving electricity access to underserved and rural communities across Nigeria.
Joining him on the REA board are Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as members and non-executive directors.
The agency’s existing Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, together with three previously appointed executive directors, will continue to serve as members of the board.
The Rural Electrification Agency plays a critical role in expanding electricity infrastructure, promoting renewable energy solutions, and supporting economic development in rural communities.
New Leadership for National Wages Commission
President Tinubu also approved appointments into the National Wages Commission.
Among those appointed is Major General Bindawa, while former Lagos lawmaker Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas becomes Secretary of the Commission.

Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi)
The commission is expected to continue advising the Federal Government on wage policies and remuneration matters across the public service.
Revenue, Population and Energy Agencies Receive New Heads
The President also approved several key appointments across other strategic institutions.
Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, who had earlier been appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), has been redeployed as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
Other appointments include:
Dr. Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission (NPC).
Dr. Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET).
Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
Engineer Julius Oloro as Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), replacing the late Dr. A.R. Kamal.
These appointments are expected to enhance institutional efficiency and support the Federal Government’s development agenda.
Fiscal Responsibility Commission Gets New Board
President Tinubu also constituted a new board for the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC).
The board is chaired by Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu.

The commission is responsible for promoting prudent management of Nigeria’s public finances and ensuring compliance with fiscal responsibility laws.
Mass Literacy Commission, Federal Housing Authority Also Get New Appointees
For the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, President Tinubu appointed Shuni Muhammad Dahiru as Executive Secretary, replacing Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was earlier reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF).
Similarly, Gisaor Vincent Iorja was appointed Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) following the resignation of Mathias Byuan, who left the position to pursue the Benue State governorship race.
Iorja is an economist, legal scholar, academic, and currently serves as Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).
Tinubu Continues Restructuring of Federal Institutions
The latest appointments reflect President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to reposition Federal Government agencies by filling critical leadership positions with experienced administrators, professionals, and public servants.
The administration believes the appointments will strengthen institutional capacity, improve service delivery, and accelerate the implementation of key government policies across sectors including electricity, agriculture, housing, education, population management, and fiscal governance.
With the appointments taking immediate effect, the newly appointed officials are expected to assume their responsibilities and contribute to advancing the Federal Government’s development priorities.
