Sometimes in life, help comes from where you least expect it — and in a moment that can change your entire destiny. This is my true story.
In July 2025, I was blessed with a scholarship to study at Albukhary International University in Malaysia. It was one of the happiest moments of my life because it meant I could finally pursue quality education abroad and build a better future for myself and my family.
However, the journey was not easy. The scholarship required me to pay for my visa processing and also arrange my flight ticket. After struggling, I managed to pay for my visa, and Alhamdulillah, it was successfully approved. But then came the biggest challenge — booking my flight ticket.
I reached out to many people and organizations for support. I sent messages, made calls, and waited with hope. Days passed, but no one responded on time. The deadline was getting closer — only 3 days left. My dream was about to slip away from my hands. I felt worried, confused, and almost gave up.
Then something unbelievable happened. A gentleman from the North East Development Commission, the Managing Director/CEO, Muhammad Goni Alkali, heard about my situation. Within just 24 hours, he took action. He personally arranged and paid for my flight ticket — not only from Nigeria to Malaysia but also from Maiduguri to Abuja.
That was not all. He also gave me a significant amount of money to support my journey so that I could travel successfully and settle down without fear.
At that moment, I realized that he was not just helping me — he was changing my life.
Today, I have spent 6 months in Malaysia, studying and gaining valuable knowledge and international experience. Every day I walk into my classroom, I remember that my presence here is not only by my effort but also because of the kindness, generosity, and magnanimity of one man who believed in my dream.
To me, Muhammad Goni Alkali is not only a helper — he is a key figure who transforms lives. Under his leadership, the North East Development Commission has achieved remarkable success, bringing development and opportunities to many people across North East Nigeria. His transparency, responsibility, and commitment to humanity are truly inspiring.
I thank Almighty Allah for making this possible and for sending someone who became a turning point in my life.
